My name is Svetlana. I am writing my story from Orlando, USA, where I live with my husband Eric. Only three years ago I was living in Russia in the fine city of St. Petersburg. I miss this city, but on the other hand I am very happy that I live together with Eric in his home country.
We met through your dating site, just like many other couples. There are three married couples among our friends that also met through your dating site. To say the truth, I never thought that one could meet a man through the Internet, by correspondence, and, moreover, from a different country! But I decided to try my luck and submitted my profile.
I began to correspond with men in Fall 2001. There were different things that I found out through letters about the character and lifestyle of foreign candidates to my heart. Sometimes I got messages from very interesting men, but we never met in real life. It might be that these men did not have enough courage to do it. But I was still waiting and did not give up hoping.
Once I got a call from the agency, they had great news for me. It turned out that one man sent money in order for me to come and see him in the USA. I was surprised that I never got a letter from him. Later I found out that he did not have time to register yet but wanted to get in touch with me as soon as possible.
I liked this move very much! I may have been waiting for something similar, quick, passionate and rash. I like decisiveness in men, when they do not beat about the bush, but know for sure what they want. I asked the agency to tell him that I will come to the USA to see him with great pleasure.
In three days, I got a letter from that very man. His name was Eric and he was 29 years old. I was very impressed by his photo. It was a nice surprise that he also turned out to be a very deep and romantic person. In his letter he wrote that he was looking forward to acquainting me with his native country and city, and to spending time with me.
Of course, American life seemed different at once. I came on holiday eve, and the streets were full of love and romance. The very same evening we went to walk on the city streets, had a meal in the restaurant, and visited many other places. I was impressed by the looks, the behavior and the restraint that Eric showed. He was also very happy that at last a girl was not scared off, trusted him and went to visit him.
We celebrated Christmas with his family. He has wonderful parents, a brogher and a sister. It was an amazing time in my life. On New Year, it was just the two of us in a country house of Erics family. I also liked it very much there - the nature, the air, and the festive mood both of us were in all created an unforgettable atmosphere.
I was sorry that I had to leave so soon on the 3rd of January. However, I was sure that I would be back soon. Eric said that I would be able to move to his place shortly. I had no doubts that there were no alternatives. In the end of April Eric came to St. Petersburg to help me move. We were together in my home city, but we had enough time to have fun and to walk around. I bade farewell to my city, where I left my childhood, my family and friends. Yet I was sure that it was happiness waiting for me. I was right! I am very happy, and so is Eric. We feel great together; we became the closest people for each other!
