Maria and Eric

My name is Maria. I am very glad to share with you my love story, which made me, my husband, our parents and friends very happy.

Eric and I met through your agency. I was using the agencys services for about a year, and Eric was a newcomer. When I sent my first letter to him, it was only three days since he placed his profile online. Why did I decide to write to him? Well the first thing I noticed in his profile was the description of the girl he was looking for. He was in search of a kind, sympathetic, sincere girl who wanted to be happy. This is about me, I thought.

Then I read what he wrote about himself and decided to check it out, whether he was saying the truth. One can write anything, the only thing left to do is to prove it, which is a difficult task. So, I wrote my first letter, mentioning of course that I am very kind, sympathetic, sincere and that I really wanted to be happy! I could only hope that he would read my letter and spare his attention for it.

A week went by, but no answer came. I decided that I do not need this man and did not get too upset about it. During several months I corresponded with other men. All seemed very interesting, but my heart was not disposed to them. I paid less and less attention to the letters that came in.

One day, I suddenly got a letter from Eric. I was pretty sure it was a polite rejection, you know, sorry, I met another girl, etc. However, I was mistaken. How great I did read his letter after all! He was really saying sorry, but only for sending such a late reply. It turned out that he got into a car crash, landing in hospital. He spent a long time there and couldnt write any letters. Of course, I understood correspondence had not been his top priority all that time! Thank God he was not seriously injured: some bruises, a couple of fractures at least, nothing mortal and consequential.

I wrote a reply at once. I tried to cheer him up and to make him smile. I think he was attracted because I was lively and helped him cheer up. We corresponded for a long time, trying to find out as much as we could about each other. I was not wrong about him, what he wrote in his profile turned out to be true through his letters.

His letters caused joy to me; I missed him whenever I didnt get his letter the next day. But when I did get it, I felt happy, though with each letter I sent him I was anxious that my sincerity would scare him off and he would never respond. His frankness appealed to me. I prefer to know the truth about a person than to be misled by wrong information.

In summer Eric invited me to California. I did not hesitate to come. It was such a great time for us - words fail to express it. I fell in love with California, it is such a beautiful place. Now I live here with Eric and keep discovering the beauty of local scenery. Eric is also someone I did not fully discover as yet. He keeps surprising me in a good way. As he promised, he made me very happy. He said I also became his happiness.

The only thing I feel sad about is that I cannot see my Mum often. Right now, we are working at taking her to the States. This is even more important as we will have a baby soon, and the grandmother would not put up with being so far from her grandchild. We are dreaming of living happily all together. We have lots of plans and hopes. We shall see what we shall see. But I believe things will be even better than they are now.
